Perishable imports require bills of entry with accurate HS codes, health or phytosanitary certificates, and often expedited clearance to avoid spoilage at port or airport cold stores.

Why perishables are different

Fruits, vegetables, seafood, flowers, and medicines lose value every hour at port. Bills of entry for perishable goods must be accurate on first filing to trigger fast-track channels where available.

Health & sanitary approvals

Many countries require phytosanitary certificates, health certificates, or FSSAI/FDA-style approvals before release. Missing certificates block clearance regardless of BoE submission.

Cold chain

Reefer containers and airport cold rooms charge demurrage quickly. Pre-clear BoE data with your broker before arrival; use document checklists as a model.
